Pupils from a Weston primary school enjoyed an afternoon at the library listening to an award-winning author.

Two classes from Walliscote Primary School visited Weston Library, in Broad Street, to hear Christopher Edge talk about his books.

The children were also treated to extracts from his books.

The event, organised by Literature Works, is part of a regional literature 26-date tour called Word On Tour.

The aim of the tour is to promote the region’s writing talents in communities and encourage more people to pick up a book and get reading.

Other poets and novelists featured on the tour include Vanessa Kisuule, Byron Vincent and Nikesh Shukla.

The tour is also due to make stops in Worle, Burnham, Cheddar and Pill.
