Polling stations across Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset and Wells opened at 7am this morning (Thursday) – and for the next 24 hours or more, the Mercury will bring you all the General Election news you need to know.

We will have reporters working throughout today and into the early hours of Friday to bring you key information from counts across the area.

Follow our blog from now until 10pm tonight, where we will be bringing you the information you need on how to vote, who you can vote for and when you can expect the results.

At 10pm, we should have the exit polls, and reporters will then head to Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, Scotch Horn Leisure Centre and the Bath and West Showground to provide live results from Weston, North Somerset and Wells.

We would love for you to get involved too. You can tweet us @WSMERCURY, or share comments on the Weston Mercury Facebook page.

Tell us you have voted, and share your polling station selfies with us. We would also love to see your dogs at polling stations – so tweet them to us, or email
