WESTON Golf Club played host to 35 teams in a BWOC charity golf day at in aid of Weston Hospicecare and other charities.

The event raised £5,800, with £5,300 being donated to the hospice in Thornbury Road in Uphill.

All 18 holes were sponsored and prizes were given for the top four finishers, for the two longest drives and two nearest to the pins.

Hospice fundraiser Sarah Livermore said: “The event was a huge success with lots of laughter throughout the day.

“The money could pay for all the medication and oxygen for our entire in-patient unit for more than three months, which was a fantastic achievement.

“Thank you to everyone who took part.”
