The Lord Lieutenant of Somerset has high hopes for Weston Town Centre following a visit to the area.

Annie Maw visited the ‘beautiful’ seaside town on Monday and was taken on a guided tour of the area by North Somerset Council chairman John Crockford-Hawley.

Mrs Maw said: “All of these different endeavours gave me a glimpse of how the people of Weston care about each other and care about this great town which they are lucky enough to live in.”

Cllr Crockford-Hawley said it was a ‘pleasure’ to show Mrs Maw around the town’s various regeneration projects.
