THE National Lottery has awarded money to a Congresbury care project.

Help-In-Care has received £6,020 from the Big Lottery Fund to assist with mediation sessions at care homes in the South West.

Paul Doonan, who founded the group after problems he experienced, said: “I got banned from my father’s care home, just for raising some issues. It was ridiculous. I have worked in local government for 20 years and I couldn’t believe what I was seeing in these homes.

“I knew other people must be having problems and because I know the system, I decided to do something about it.”
