TWO hopeless romantics have proved love conquers all by getting married again 25 years after they were divorced.Roy and Janet Childs, of Woodside near Hutton, will walk down the aisle for the second time tomorrow (Sat), 38 years after their first marriage. The couple first met when Janet was 17 and Roy was 18, at a dance hall in South London. Two years later they married, had two sons and moved to Weston. But they divorced in 1982. Roy, now aged 58, re-married and had two more children, Maria and James, and Janet had a long-term partner. But they rekindled their romance when their sons, Simon and Paul, invited them both to a family meal. Their budding relationship blossomed when Janet, aged 57, spent time in hospital and Roy was on hand to help her recover.Roy said: "The relationship between Janet and her partner ended and I divorced my second wife and we were both on our own. Janet then became ill and everything blossomed from there."To start with we became friends again but six months on we started to realise there was more to it."Just 18 months ago I proposed again in the car park in Asda. I wasn't sure if she'd want me back."Janet has always stayed in the family home in Woodside and still lives there now. She and Roy plan to return there together after the wedding.Roy and Janet will recite their vows again tomorrow (Sat) in front of 70 friends and family at The Beachlands Hotel in Weston.Roy's best man will be his son James from his second marriage and Simon and Paul will walk their mum down the aisle.Roy said: "Simon and Paul walking Janet down the aisle is a symbolic gesture about her being given back to me.
