A lucky man from Belgium won more than £10,000 after betting on Weston-super-Mare to beat Concord Rangers on Saturday.

The punter, Brandon Keane, staked €500 on Scott Bartlett’s Seagulls to beat relegation rivals Concord 3-1 at Thames Road at odds of 25/1, and Steve Cawley’s late consolation goal for the hosts was just what Mr Keane needed to dispel the January blues.

He walked away from a Belgian Ladbrokes €12,500, or £10,800, richer.

The Seagulls raced into a 3-0 lead before half time, before the Beach Boys pulled one back in the closing stages.

Mr Keane had to survive a nervy 18 minutes before his monster bet landed, but the Seagulls held on for their third consecutive win. We hope he held onto his betting slip.
