Severe delays on M5 after school holidays begin

The start of the school holidays has brought parts of the M5 to a standstill this afternoon (Friday).
Traffic is piled up northbound between junction 22 (Burnham-on-Sea) up to junction 19 at Gordano Services.
Traffic is moving slowly but it is taking a while for the road to return to normal driving conditions.
UPDATE 5.16PM: Traffic England is reporting delays of up to 90 minutes on the M5.
