A trailer has overturned on the M5, creating long delays in North Somerset.

The crash has blocked the motorway northbound, between junctions 20 (Portishead) and 19 (Clevedon and Yatton).

It is not known at the moment if anyone has been injured in the crash.

Queues are forming on the motorway in both directions.

There is stop-start traffic northbound from junction 23 (Bridgwater), while southbound traffic is stacking back over the Avonmouth Bridge.

Delays of two-and-a-half hours were predicted by Highways England at 2.30pm this afternoon, with two lanes currently closed.

The accident has had a knock-on-effect on the A370 too, with queues on approaches to junction 21 (Weston-super-Mare) from Worle and Puxton.
