Major changes set for Weston-super-Mare’s bus network

A number of changes affecting bus routes in and around Weston will come into effect next month.

First Bus’ W1 and X1 services, which connect Weston and Bristol, will become the X1 and X1A services from September 4 onwards and will provide a combined 15-minute frequency between Weston and central Bristol.

The W1 service will be withdrawn and replaced by a new X1A service, which will operate along its existing route but will no longer stop in Yatton. However, people in Yatton will instead be able to use the new X6A service, which will run from Yatton Railway Station to Bristol via Clevedon.

The timetables of the 3 and 7 services, which run from Worle to Searle Crescent and Worle to Oldmixon respectively, will also be slightly altered, while the 20 service, which connects Weston and Burnham, will be changed so buses run hourly during the winter.

The A2 service between Weston and Bristol Airport will also be changed, so buses will now serve Winterstoke Road, Herluin Way, Aisecombe Way and Locking village.

Finally, the X5 bus, which connects Weston to the UWE campus in North Bristol, will be altered so buses will start and terminate at Bristol Parkway Railway Station.
