A POPULAR Weston hotspot has been sold.

Pub chain JD Wetherspoon announced today (Wed) that it has officially purchased the Cabot 5 Bars in Knightstone Road.

On average Wetherspoon spends about £800,000 redeveloping sites during a 10-week building project, although no set costs or times have been revealed for the Cabot.

The nightspot was a family-run business and prior to the pub chain takeover was run by Oli Haskins, the son of the late and well-known Weston licensee, Alan Haskins.

An official opening date has not yet been revealed.
