Major routes blocked near Weston-super-Mare

Traffic is blocking both main routes north out of Weston-super-Mare after a crash on the M5 earlier this afternoon (Wednesday).
One lane has been closed on the motorway’s northbound carriageway, between junction 21 for Weston and 20 for Clevedon, following an accident during the day.
As a result, much of the traffic that would be on the M5 has moved onto the A370, but that too has now become congested between Hewish, near the motorway roundabout, and the traffic lights in Congresbury High Street.
Traffic is described as ‘very slow’ on the motorway between the two junctions, with tailbacks to the West Wick roundabout in Weston, while the congestion on the A370 is described as less serious.
