A building found on the internet auction site eBay has been lowered into position at Weston General Hospital. The 500sq metre 'modular building' was discovered by a member of staff who was surfing the net.The hospital bought it for £25,000 from West Middlesex University NHS Trust in Twickenham. It was reassembled 'like Lego' on Weston General Hospital grounds after being delivered in 18 lorry loads.Office furnishings will be installed ready for 50 consultants and medical secretaries to move into from the main hospital building in late June. The move will create room for the new Weston Super Kid's Appeal children's day ward, due to open in the autumn.A hospital spokesman said: "Everything went fine. It was amazing to watch, all the different sections went together like Lego."The working conditions will be much better in the new building than they are in the present administrative corridor. It will be in place for the foreseeable future.
