A WESTON man has been arrested in connection with a serious incident which left a teenager in hospital with head injuries.

A 19-year-old was reportedly struck by a car at the junction of Alexandra Parade and Camden Terrace, at about 2.20am on June 23.

The impact of the collision resulted in a shattered, blood-stained window at Infinity Hair & Beauty Studio.

The man, who is from outside North Somerset, was taken to Weston General Hospital and his condition - which was initially described as ‘life-threatening’ - has since improved.

He is still in hospital and a 40-year-old man from Weston has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He has been released on bail, pending further inquiries.

Police cordoned off the area for much of the following morning as forensic investigations were carried out.

A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for witnesses and information following a fail to stop collision in the early hours of Thursday June 23.
