A man was arrested and questioned in Weston-super-Mare last night (Friday) following a ‘disturbance’.

Officers from Avon and Somerset Constabulary were called to Ankatel Close at 9pm.

A man had refused to leave a property after pushing a woman and her teenage daughter out. They were both unharmed.

The police closed off the road as a precaution and used a negotiator to talk to the man.

He was later arrested and taken in for questioning.

A police spokesman said: “We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during the operation and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
