A MAN was hit in the face after an argument between a group of young men on Monday evening.

The incident occurred at about 7pm in an open space on the corner of Silverberry Way and Verbena Way, Weston, which is known locally as the orchard.

The victim was a man in his 40s and two members of the public are believed to have intervened but then left the scene.

Police are keen to trace the two members of the public as they believe they could have useful information to help their enquiries.

As the area is also used by dog walkers, police would like to hear from any who may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

Anyone able to help is asked to contact Weston CID on 101.
