Man charged after drugs found in garden

A MAN has been charged with drug offences after police found wraps of heroin and cocaine in a garden in Weston-super-Mare.

James Beckett, aged 23, was arrested in Clarendon Road on Wednesday at around 6pm.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary found 44 wraps of heroin in a garden in Clarendon Road and also recovered five wraps of cocaine and a further nine wraps of heroin.

He was charged with possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply and appeared at North Somerset Courthouse yesterday (Thursday).

Neighbourhood Sergeant Colin Batchelor said: “We’re determined to make Weston a better place for everyone by targeting drug crime. If you have information which could help us please get in touch through our website or by calling 101.”

Beckett, from Birmingham, was remanded in custody and will be at Bristol Crown Court on October 22.
