Man dies after car and motorbike crash near Weston-super-Mare at the weekend

A man has died after being involved in a crash between a car and a motorbike near Weston-super-Mare at the weekend.

The man in his 60s died after his motorbike collided with a Ford Fiesta on the A370 Weston Road in Edingworth on the outskirts of Weston at around 2.40pm on Saturday.

Two people in the car were freed from the vehicle by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service crews, and given first aid alongside the motorcyclist before ambulances arrived.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: “We’re appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Edingworth on Saturday.

“Sadly, the motorcyclist, a man in his 60’s, died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

“We need to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorbike on the A370 prior to the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 and quote log number 601.”
