Man dies after car fire

A MAN has died after receiving ‘severe’ burns in a car fire on Friday night.

Crews from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue attended Cheddar Gorge to reports of a vehicle alight in a car park at around 9.57pm.

Crews from Winscombe, Blagdon and Cheddar attended and extinguished the fire using two hose reel jets.

A man was pulled from the car with severe burns and was treated by the ambulance service.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said he was taken to Southmead Hospital in a life-threatening condition and died at 5am on Saturday morning.
