AN investigation is under way after a man died in a car fire at a Backwell beauty spot.Emergency crews were called to Backwell Lake on Friday at just after 7pm after reports of a car ablaze in the lake car park.When firefighters from Nailsea and Temple Back stations arrived they managed to extinguish the blaze but were unable to rescue a man who was inside the car.The victim has not yet been named but the coroner has been informed and an inquest is due to be opened and adjourned this week.The fire is also being investigated by police.
