Man fears repeat attack by gang

A MAN was punched and kicked in the head when he was attacked by a gang of youths.

A MAN was punched and kicked in the head when he was attacked by a gang of youths.

The Bournville estate resident, who does not wish to be named for fear of repercussions, was set upon by three yobs on his way home.

The victim and his girlfriend had enjoyed a meal with his parents and then went to Asda before heading back to the estate.

When he was stopped at about 9.30pm on Friday in Selworthy Road and was asked for a light, he said 'no' and was then attacked.

He told the Weston Mercury: "They kept asking for a light and were going on and on.

"Then they budged me in the shoulder into a small wall.

"I fell into someone's garden and landed on my back. Then they started kicking and punching me in the head and legs.

"I was bleeding and went to hospital but luckily nothing was broken."

The gang then made off with alcohol the man had purchased and now the victim says he is scared the attack it might happen again.

He added: "My girlfriend was scared and tried to flag down someone but no one stopped to help.

"I am very worried about going out at night in case it happens again."

The first youth is described as white, about 16-17 years old, about 5ft 2ins tall and of slim build. He was clean shaven with short, dark brown hair and was wearing a black hooded top with dark jeans and black trainers.

The second is about 16-17 years old, white and about 5ft 6ins tall and of slim build. He was clean shaven with mousey brown short spiky hair. He was wearing a grey hooded top and light blue jeans.

The third youth was aged between 16-17 years old, was white and is thought to be about 5ft 6ins tall. He was of slim build with short black hair and was wearing a white hooded top.
