An elderly woman was the victim of an attempted robbery when a man tried to snatch her handbag in Weston-super-Mare

Police have released the image of a man they would like to speak to, after a man tried to grab an 89-year-old’s handbag as she walked along Regent Street.

She was walking at 10.15am on May 16, and suffered a burn to her arm caused by the handbag being pulled against her.

The man ran off empty-handed in the direction of Meadow Street.
