A YOUNG man was knocked unconscious after being assaulted outside a Weston bar on Saturday evening.

The man, described as being in his late teens to early 20s, was injured in the incident which happened outside Raddy’s bar in Beach Road at around 10.50pm.

Both the police and a crew from the Great Western Ambulance Service attended the scene, and after some treatment at the scene he was taken to Weston General Hospital, with a spokesman for the service saying he was in ‘a reduced state of consciousness’ throughout.

A 19-year-old man was arrested by police on suspicion of assault following the incident, and he has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The police have urged anyone with information to contact them on the 101 number.
