Man in balaclava robs store - police appeal

A STORE was robbed by a man wearing a balaclava this morning (Fri).

The man entered the Co-op store in The Square, Axbridge, at about 6am, demanding money from staff.

They handed over ‘quite a significant’ sum to the man, police confirmed.

Police have described the man as around 5ft 7in tall wearing a black bomber jacket or parka jacket with a hood and a balaclava. He is though to be 20-30 years old.

It is not yet know whether he escaped on foot or in a vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call them on 101.
