A 23-year-old from Yatton appeared at North Somerset Courthouse charged with death by dangerous driving following the death of a Nailsea teenager.

James Bisset has also been charged with causing injury by dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drink and drugs and possession of class A drug – cocaine.

Bisset was arrested after the car he was driving collided with 18-year-old Alex Gould on Clevedon Road in Nailsea in the early hours of February 14.

Alex died in Southmead Hospital later that night.

Three other people were also injured in the collision.

Bisset did not enter a plea when he appeared at the courthouse in St Georges on October 10.

Due to the serious nature of his charges, the case was sent to Bristol Crown Court and will next be heard on November 7.
