Man injured after car crashes into house

A man was rushed to hospital after a car crashed into a house in a Somerset village late last night (Wednesday).

An ambulance and rapid response car, one fire crew and the police were called to Stoughton Cross, in Wedmore, at 11.15pm after a car hit a house.

All people involved were freed from the vehicle but one man had to be taken to Southmead Hospital, in Bristol, by South Western Ambulance Service after sustaining a head injury.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue secured the scene and left it in the hands of Avon and Somerset Constabulary at 12.17am.
