A man from Banwell is taking on an unusual challenge - to ride a unicycle for 10 miles to raise money for charity.

David Bradford, aged 29, is planning to ride up and down Weston seafront for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) on October 29.

David has ridden a unicycle since he was 13.

He said: “I started doing it because my oldest brother used to.

“It is quite difficult. When I started, I used to go up and down the road, holding onto everyone’s fences.”

David chose to raise money for research into rheumatoid arthritis (RA) as his sister has the condition.

He said: “She has faced many challenges with her RA but she never gives in to it and tries to live her life as normally as possible.

“NRAS has helped my sister by supporting her through her RA journey.”
