A MAN remains in hospital after being rushed from a nightclub in Weston with a serious head injury.

The man, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital from VII nightclub in Princess Royal Square in the early hours of Sunday morning with a bleed on the brain.

He was rushed to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, where he was joined by members of his family.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

A police spokesman said: “We were called to Princess Royal Square in the town centre in Weston near to VII nightclub at about 2am on Sunday.

“A crime scene was established and a man in his 20s was taken to hospital with a serious head injury.

“A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.”

A spokesman for NHS North Bristol said he was unable to disclose information on the man’s health at this present time.
