A MAN has been robbed in a brazen attack during trading hours in Weston’s Sovereign Shopping Centre.

The incident occurred at around 3.30pm on Wednesday – while shops were open, and the High Street centre was busy.

The victim was near to Wilkinson when he was approached by a teenage crook who dragged him to the car park area.

Once inside, the youth took the man’s mobile phone, before heading back through the car park’s double doors into the shopping centre.

Police say the robber was white, aged around 18, and was about 6ft tall. He was of slim build, with short, light-coloured hair.

The youth wore a dark, long-sleeved top, dark grey tracksuit bottoms, and a black woollen hat with flaps over the ears.

Police hope people might have witnessed the attack, and remembered details because the victim was wearing a distinctive white hooded body warmer, with a dark-sleeved hoody beneath.

He is white, around 5ft 7in tall, with short, mousy brown hair.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Weston police on 101.
