Man suffers serious head injury after Weston-super-Mare incident

A man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury after police were called to a house in Weston-super-Mare yesterday (Sunday).

The victim, who is in his 20s, was taken to Weston General Hospital after police were called to reports of an assault at an address in Highbury Road, at 5.53am. His injuries are not believed to be as serious as first thought.

Officers from Avon and Somerset Constabulary arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of using violence to secure entry to a premises and the man has since been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
