A man was left with life-threatening injuries after a crash on a busy road near Weston-super-Mare at the weekend.

The 39-year-old man was taken to Southmead Hospital by air ambulance on Saturday after his Kawasaki motorbike collided with a Honda car on the A370 near Bleadon.

Police are appealing for witnesses of the crash, which took place shortly before 5.30pm, to come forward.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: “The road was closed for several hours while it was examined by specialist crime scene investigators and to allow the vehicles involved to be recovered.

“Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call 101 and tell the call handler you are phoning in relation to log 863 of June 2.”
