A WESTON man who attacked two police officers has been described as 'an uncontrollable raging bull'. Nicholas Hancock, of Devonshire Road, pleaded guilty to assaulting PC Katy Grant and PC Robin Worthy when he appeared at North Somerset Courthouse in St Georges on Monday, just three days after he celebrated his 28th birthday. The two officers went to Hancock's house on November 24 last year to arrest him for an offence that was later dropped. In a statement read out in court, PC Grant said: "We went to arrest him on an allegation of assault. When we cautioned him he said 'this is f***ing stupid, you're having a laugh'. "He seemed to be under the influence of either drugs or alcohol and we told him to calm down. When I said I was about to handcuff him he said 'yeah, come on then' and lunged towards us. "He was an uncontrollable raging bull and he threw our bodies around like rag dolls. He pushed my colleague, PC Worthy, and I against a pane of glass and I thought it was going to smash."Both officers were left with cuts and bruises and photographs of their injuries were passed around the court. Hancock, who admitted to the court that he is a recreational drug user, was given two 60-day suspended prison sentences. He was ordered to pay £200 compensation to each police officer and costs of £60.
