A 20-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital last night (Thurs) after he was involved in a car crash.

Weston firefighters and Avon & Somerset police were called to a collision on the M5 between junction 21 and 22 at about 7pm.

A Toyota and a BMW were involved in the southbound collision in the fast lane.

The Toyota driver was unharmed but firefighters had to cut the roof and doors off the BMW to remove a trapped 20-year-old.

He was then taken by paramedics on a spinal board to Weston General Hospital.

It is thought he suffered back and abdominal injuries which are not though to be life threatening.
