Man treated in road after accident

POLICE and ambulance crews were called to an accident between a cyclist and a car in Weston this afternoon.

The crash happened at the junction of the Boulevard and Alfred Street.

A man thought to be in his 60s was being treated in the road by South Western Ambulance crews as of about 2pm and was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary with suspected chest injuries

Avon and Somerset Constabulary Inspector Liz Hughes said: “At 1.49pm we were informed of a collision on the Boulevard.

“A cyclist and the driver of a blue Nissan Primera collided on the junction with Alfred Street.

“We are currently at the scene dealing with the incident and would appeal to witnesses to contact us on 101.”
