A vigil in memory of those who lost their lives in Monday's terrorist attack in Manchester will be held in Weston-super-Mare on Sunday night.

People plan to meet at Marine Lake to remember the 22 victims of the blast at the Manchester Arena. The incident left dozens of others injured.

The event has been organised on Facebook by Chantelle Williams who wanted to ‘do her a bit’ to show solidarity with the innocent people caught up in the atrocity.

People are being encouraged to arrive at the lake for 8pm and to take items such as flowers, candles, posters and cards. She requests balloons are not taken however for environmental reasons.

Chantelle said: “I had been in Cardiff the week previously with my mum to see The Vamps and I could just picture every moment in my head of what that must of been like.

“I can’t imagine what it would be like to not come home with her or vice versa.

“I also know what its like to be in hospital and be scared, not sure what’s going on, as I have severe epilepsy and panic attacks and many times the first thing I have remembered from coming round is a paramedic telling me its going to be okay or trying to cheer me up, or even just sit with me.

“All of this meant I felt very emotionally close to what happened on Monday and as young lady I just wanted to do my bit.”
