MORE than £17,500 worth of counterfeit goods was seized from a car boot sale in Highbridge earlier this monthIllegal DVDs, CDs and computer games were taken by Somerset trading standards officers, who had received several complaints from members of the public. Officers and the police went along to the car boot sale on May 6. Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. A spokesman for trading standards said: "Earlier this year Somerset County Council's trading standards department issued a warning to those trading in illegal fake goods. These raids will continue throughout the season as we are committed to stamping out the sale of counterfeits. Highbridge seems to be a particular hotspot for this type of crime.
