MORE than £3,000 was handed to a lifeboat charity at a Masons group’s annual meeting.

The Annual Convocation of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Somerset was held at the Webbington Country Club in Loxton.

A cheque for £3,500 was handed to Portishead Lifeboat Trust.

It was also announced that the group has nominated The Royal Arch Masons 2013 Bicentenary Appeal as its chosen charity for the next two years.
