A ‘kind’ and ‘beautiful’ Weston-super-Mare biker will take his final ride after losing his battle with cancer.
Matthew Beard, aged 46, died after fighting cancer for less than three months but his family hopes to remember him with a large send off.
Julie Andrews, Matthew’s cousin, told the Mercury: “He absolutely loved his bike and from a young age showed an interest in them.
“He was such a generous, kind and beautiful man who had a passion for life, which will carry on in his legacy.”
Matthew was diagnosed with cancer in October and autism two years before but Julie said he fought until the end and went the extra mile for his friends and neighbours.
She said: “He volunteered a lot and was always doing little things which meant so much.”
Matthew will take his final ride on a Harley Davidson with the hearse in a sidecar.
His brother Chris will lead a procession of bikes to Weston’s crematorium tomorrow (Friday) and people are asked to arrive for 9.20am.
