Weston-super-Mare's Mayor is hosting a charity Halloween party.

Cllr Alan Peak is holding the bash to raise money for Weston General Hospital’s Sunshine Radio and the Macular Society.

He said: “Sunshine Radio can help make patients’ stays in the hospital a little bit easier, and for some patients who sadly don’t receive any visitors the only social interaction they receive is from the volunteers.”

The Macular Society supports people with macular degeneration, which can lead to sight loss.

Cllr Peak said: “Many of us take our eyesight for granted but this is not the case for everyone. Our eyes are precious.”

The event will be held on October 28 at the Royal Hotel. Tickets, priced £27.50 for the three-course dinner and disco, are available via julie.smith@wsm-tc.gov.uk or 01934 632567. Fancy dress is optional.
