If you thought all of the Christmas and New Year parties were at an end, think again – a fun, free party for Weston’s schoolchildren will take place this weekend.

In recent years, it has become a tradition for the town’s mayor to host a January celebration for primary school youngsters (those in school years one to six) every year.

In past years, the event has been held at Weston Football Club in Winterstoke Road, but a change of venue this time around will see it staged at St Paul’s Church in Walliscote Road instead.

However, while the venue may have changed, the usual mixture of fun, activities and party good can still be expected by those who attend.

The other good news for families is the event remains free, although families who want to go do need to book their tickets in advance.

To register for yours, email chris.millard@wsm-tc.gov.uk or call 01934 632567.

The party will run from 3-5pm on Saturday.
