A medical practice in St Georges will be taken over by another surgery, starting in October.

St Georges Medical Practice, in Pastures Avenue, was found to be ‘inadequate’ during an inspection in January,

It has now been announced Mendip Vale Medical Practice, which has surgeries in Congresbury, Yatton and Langford, will run the St Georges site as of October 1. This follows a procurement process before the current contract ended.

The South West head of primary care for NHS England, Marina Muirhead, said: “This is great news for St Georges patients who will continue to get high quality care from the same premises.

“They will also be offered a wider range of services including getting seen at another surgery if and when it suits them.”

Patients will be able to access a mental health nurse specialist, online consultations and advice, and Saturday clinics at other surgeries.
