WESTON folk are being asked to support people with dementia by taking part in a memory walk next month.

The walk is the Alzheimer’s Society’s biggest annual fundraising event, and will be a stroll around the Grand Pier on September 14, from 2-4pm.

It will look to publicise the practical support the society gives to people affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia in North Somerset, as around one in three people over 65 nationally will develop some form of the disease.

Hazel Tillman, services manager, said: “It’s a lovely event where everyone comes together for a fun day, and encourages people to talk about dementia and show it’s possible to live well with the condition.”

To register, call Hayley on 01934 414214 or e-mail north.somerset@alzheimers.org.uk.
