Seventeen men from Somerset called a helpline for advice about being attracted to child abuse images.
Across the South West region, 78 men called the number to get help for their attraction to pictures of children.
The statistics come from the helpline, which is run by Stop It Now! – a sexual abuse prevention campaign. The calls from the South West, made between February 1 last year and January 31 this year, make up 6.5 per cent of the 1,208 calls received from across the UK.
A further 12 adults from Somerset rang in the same period to express their concerns about the online behaviour of another adult. These calls are typically from wives or parents.
