If you think you have the cutest pet ever, then now is your chance to prove it.

The Weston Mercury is launching its Pet of the Year competition and giving you the chance to nominate your trusted companions.

Now is the time to show off your pretty parrot, trusty tortoise, or photogenic fish. Whether your pet has fur, feathers, or scales, we want to hear from you.

If you think you own the most handsome hound or horse, then you can nominate it for the chance to be crowned Pet of the Year.

All nominated pets will appear in a special supplement in the Weston Mercury on November 4, where readers will then be tasked with choosing their favourite.

You have until October 17 to nominate your pet, so there is plenty of time to capture your pet looking at its best.
