Children in a North Somerset village sought cover from this weekend’s cold weather at a community event.

Youngsters in Wrington enjoyed a messy church session at the memorial hall, in Silver Street, throughout the afternoon on Sunday.

Families were able to make animals using vegetables such as potatoes and carrots, while homemade animal masks were also popular.

Messy church sessions are designed to encourage families who do not usually attend a church service to get involved in religious life. It is said to promote good ways of growing as a family.
