SOME of Secret World Wildlife Rescue’s smallest animals are set to become stars when they feature in BBC programme Countryfile on Sunday.

Sunday’s edition of the nature programme will reveal how the East Huntspill charity is saving the harvest mouse by giving a group of the tiny rodents a new home in the wild.

Presenter Ellie Harrison visited the New Road centre and chatted to its founder, Pauline Kidner, and animal care assistant Sam A’Court.

Foxes and other rescued animals will also be on display to the public at the centre’s Nature’s Hunters open weekend, which lasts from 10am-4pm from Saturday to Monday.

Visitors can learn about the red fox, make origami crafts and badges and meet the centre’s five red foxes. Entry is free but donations are requested.
