A WESTON man who has been missing since September has been spotted.

Police are still asking for help in finding Gerald Pope who lives in the Bourneville area.

The 45-year-old was reported missing on October 29 but police discovered after making enquiries into his disappearance that he had not actually been seen since the end of September.

Since the appeal was launched last week a number of people have contacted the police to say that they believe they have seen Gerald.

Two people reported seeing him in the Weston area on October 10 and 20.

One person, who went to school with Gerald, said they spotted him walking along the Clevedon Road in the Nailsea area.

DI Andy Bevan said that it is believed that Mr Pope is still in the North Somerset area.

He said: "We are concerned for his welfare as he has missed taking medication.

"We are hoping that people might recognised Gerald from the image we have released and would urge anyone, or even Gerald himself to contact us."

Gerald is described as a mixed heritage male, about 5ft 8ins tall with short black hair and having a gaunt appearance.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at Weston on 0845 4567000.
