A PAEDOPHILE, who was believed to have been on the run in Weston, has been found this morning (Wed).
Police warned parents yesterday that David Marker was known to ‘loiter’ around primary schools, as they hunted for the 75-year-old who fled a hospital unit in Taunton on Monday morning.
Marker, who has been held under the Mental Health Act since 1965 following an indecent assault on a seven-year-old girl in Plymouth, was considered a ‘risk’ to the public, according to Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Papucka.
A letter sent out to parents by North Somerset Council on Tuesday said: “He is a sex offender and has previously been seen loitering in the area of primary schools.
“There is intelligence to suggest he may be in the Weston area.”
An initial police appeal released on Monday stated Marker had gone missing from a care home but that was amended on Tuesday.
But police were able to track Marker down in Cornwall this morning and thanked the public for their support.
