PROPOSALS for a wind farm near Rooksbridge have received a mixed reaction after going on show to the public.

Broadview Energy Limited took the plans to several consultation events in villages around the planned Pilrow Farm site last week, and a spokesman said 167 people had given the company their thoughts on the scheme.

After the events, in Rooksbridge and East Brent on June 16, Mark and Rooksbridge on June 17, and Highbridge the next day, development manager Olly Buck said: “We’re pleased with the amount of people who attended the meetings.

“We got a number of different opinions, with some people recognising the need for an environmentally-friendly facility such as this, and others raising concerns.”

Further consultation events are set to be scheduled for July, with Broadview hopeful a planning application can be handed in to Sedgemoor District Council at the end of the year.
