Police are continuing to search for missing Weston-super-Mare man Deakon Wilkins and a mobile police station will be set up outside the nightclub he was last seen inside tonight (Friday).

"We just want to say to Deakon to come home – whatever has made you stay away it doesn’t matter, just come back to us safe."

Andy Wilkins, Deakon’s dad.

Deakon – who lives with his grandfather in Worle – has not been seen since leaving the club in Avon Street since the early hours of January 14.

His family have issued a desperate plea for their son to come home, and have been out canvassing the streets of Bristol.

Police have also released a CCTV image showing what Deakon was wearing on the night he was last seen and an intensive police search operation continues both on land and in the water around Motion.

Tonight police officers will be speaking to the public at Motion nightclub in the hope of gathering new information about his disappearance.

Deakon’s dad Andy Wilkins said it is completely out of character for him not to return home.

Andy told the Mercury he is extremely worried about his son, and added: “He came to us for tea on Friday afternoon before he went out with his mates – but then nothing after that.”

He said he is at his wits’ end, as is Deakon’s mum Marcella, but they are focusing all of their energy on sharing Deakon’s appeal.

He said: “We are so thankful for friends, family and strangers who have helped to support us and keep us going – we have had messages from Australia and America.

“There were about 20 people giving out flyers in Cabot Circus on Tuesday.

Deakon is described as white, of medium build, approximately 5ft 10ins tall, with ginger hair and has a tattoo between his neck and chest of the word ‘rush’.

DI Steve Cartlidge said: “Deakon has now been missing for two weeks and we continue to do everything we can to find him.

“Officers will be outside the club where he was last seen leaving to see whether anyone remembers seeing him leave a fortnight ago or if anyone has any information as to where he might be.

“We’re still keen on speaking to anyone who was in the area and saw Deakon and who hasn’t already made contact with us to get in touch either by speaking to an officer at the mobile station or by calling us.”

Anyone who sees Deakon is asked to call 999 and provide the call handler with the reference 5217012724.
